New Audio Technica VMx cartridges

Our go-to, affordable cartridge brand, Audio Technica, has launched a new and improved series of moving magnet cartridges – VMx.

Starting at just £99, the range comprises three interchangeable models with the same low-resonance polymer cartridge body, so can be upgraded/replaced by purchasing just a new stylus. The four premium models feature a die-cast aluminium body – VM740xML, 745xML, 750x & 760xSL, from £225.

The range has styli in five different shapes – conical, elliptical, microlinear, shibata and special line contact – and brings new warmth and realism to Audio-Technica’s MM cartridges, delivering a truly affordable, high-fidelity audio experience that’s alive with musical detail.

• AT-VM510xCB (conical/bonded/aluminium cantilever) – £99
• AT-VM520xEB (elliptical/bonded/aluminium cantilever) – £109
• AT-VM530xEN (elliptical/nude/aluminium cantilever) – £179
• AT-VM540xML (microlinear/nude/aluminium cantilever) – £225
• AT-VM545xML (microlinear/nude/boron cantilever) – £280
• AT-VM550xSH (shibata/nude/boron cantilever) – £319
• AT-VM560xSL (special line contact/nude/boron cantilever) – £519

And two Mono/78rpm options:

• AT-VM610xMONO – £109.00
• AT-VM670xSP – £125

All are universally compatible with any headshell that accepts 1/2” cartridges and include threaded inserts so are mounted with just two screws – no nuts required. Replacement styli start at £49.
